DISTRICT GOVERNORS
GOALS & OBJECTIVES 1999-2000

Membership is a problem throughout our District and the entire Rotary world. We must always be on the lookout for new members, but must also remember we don't need members in name only. That is members who pay their dues and come to meetings without taking part in the projects of their clubs.

We need Rotarians not members of Rotary. We need people who can and will follow our motto of "Service Above Self". this is the only way any club can survive.

My goal for membership gain this Rotary year is 88 new members NET. This means an average of plus 2 for each club over last June 30's number. As I told those clubs that asked why our dues had to go up, our expenses continue to rise as our membership declines. The only way we can avoid additional dues increases is to increase our membership.

Every club I visited has a goal of 2 or more new members net. Let's do our very best to accomplish this obtainable goal.

The following are my Foundation goals for this year: Undesignated Fund $ 50,000 Total Giving $100,000 Benefactors 10 Major donor 1

When considering a gift to the Foundation for Paul Harris credit in addition to the undesignated fund don't forget Polio Plus and the various disasters that Rotary recognizes each year. The first is already upon us. Turkey. I know from prior experience our District will answer the call.
