News from the Fulton Sunrise Club--BREAKING NEWS: February 11, 2000 - Club bulletin Online!
4/9/99 - Fulton Sunrise Rotary held its Charter Celebration Dinner at the Fairway Manor in Fulton. 141 Rotarians from 22 of our 44 Clubs were on hand to help them celebrate, including DG Ed Paparella, DGE Herb Jerry, DGN's Ward Vuillemot and Bruce Frassinelli, and 10 PDGs. (click here for the new PDG page).
In his charter presentation, DG Ed said, "PDG Ned Mann and PDG Dave Peterson started the beginning of Sunrise Fulton. As Paul Harris said, 'the most important thing you can do is invite others to join our mission.' You've created a beautiful rainbow." Guest speaker PDG Nick Norton exhorted the new club to "every day, make a patch, and create a magnificent quilt."
The newly designated President, Joe Langlois, gave credit to Judy Young, President of the Fulton noon club, and others who sponsored them. We were treated to a wonderful musical entertainment by singer Jack Walsh, and a great quartet who spiritedly sang the PDG Joe McCarthy version of "You Are My Sunrise." It was an evening of camaraderie, fellowship, and joy for all in attendance.

You Are My Sunrise (adapted by PDG Joe McCarthy) You are my Sunrise, my only Sunrise;
A club that's happy, when skies are grey.
Get up before dawn, to make the meeting;
Then we can snooze at work the rest of the day.We're proud of Fulton, the Chocolate City.
We thank the Noon Club, for helping us grow.
We'll do our very best, to be of service;
'Cause we're the brand new club in 7-1-5-0!
ROTARY
R-O-T-A-R-Y, that spells Rotary;
R-O-T-A-R-Y is known on land and sea;
From North to South,
From East to West,
They profit most who serve the best;
R-O-T-A-R-Y, that spells Rotary.

Evening's Blessing
Blessed be the works of your hands, O Holy One.
Blessed be these hands that have touched life.
Blessed be these hands that have nurtured creativity.
Blessed be these hands that have held pain.
Blessed be these hands that have embraced with passion.
Blessed be these hands that have tended gardens.
Blessed be these hands that have closed in anger.
Blessed be these hands that have planted new seeds.
Blessed be these hands that have plante new seeds.
Blessed be these hands that have harvested ripe fields.
Blessed be these hands that have cleaned, washed, mopped, scrubbed.
Blessed be these hands that have become knotty with age.
Blessed be these hands that are wrinkled and scarred from doing justice.
Blessed be these hands that have reached out and been received.
Blessed be these hands that hold the promise of the future.
Blessed be the works of your hands, O Holy One.Author: Diann Neu; Invocation by Tim O'Connor-Slater
