Special Events: Wednesday, December 5th, the New Hartford Rotary Club hosted their Annual Holiday Auction. This fun-filled evening featured a social hour, during which Rotarians and guests viewed the many and varied auction items (ranging from $10 to $3,000!) while enjoying musical entertainment. This was followed by a live auction, where the lucky bidders got to walk away with special deals!

Mark Your Calendars: The past year has seen: our Russian Gift of Life child, a unique program on Croatia, year 2000 Events, YE & member News, a special article in the OD, our memorable Jim Simpson Day, our fun Golf Event, our enjoyable Youth Exchange weekend event, a great Year-end Banquet, surprise induction of Earle Reed as an honorary member, a successful 2000 Holiday Auction, and an enjoyable 34th Annual Pancake Day 2001! We had our annual Rotary Club Golf Outing at Sulphur Springs Golf Course, and our Changing of the Guard Celebration at the Ramada Inn. Sunday, September 9th, the New Hartford Rotary Club hosted the 1st Annual Rotary Celebrity Chef Bakeoff at Alfredo's Restaurant.View updated info on our Club website.

 

 

New Hartford Rotary Club Changing of the Guard 2001

In June of 2001, at our annual celebration, our Changing of the Guard, we recognized the accomplishments of outgoing President Les Cortright and our members, and welcomed incoming President Marlene B. Brown.

This annual celebration was held Wednesday evening, June 13th at the Ramada Inn. Cash Bar at 6pm with hors d'oerves, and Dinner at 7pm (choice of Prime Rib or Chicken Wellington) only $18. (includes tip & gratuity).

 

 

New Hartford Rotary Club Golf Outing 2001

Our annual New Hartford Rotary Golf Outing was held May 30th, 2001 at Sulphur Springs Golf Course. Join your fellow Rotarians for an afternoon round of golf. Starting time was 1:00pm; Captain & Crew format; $60 per person included: golf, cart, steak dinner, & cash prizes. Or join us just for dinner at $15 per person! Dinner Menu: Grilled our own steak; potato, salad, vegetable, rolls, coffee or soda. Rain or Shine. Individuals or as a team. Contact: Jeff Gornick or Diane Bartlett by May 25th.

JULY 2000 YE NEWS: "Hi, From East Hampton! Date: 8/28/00 Hi Edie & Family, Well, we are finally here at the Lake, four days after we arrived. So far we have gone kayaking, to mini-golf and for lots of boat rides. Of course we had to play a million and one card games. Tomorrow we are going to Boston to visit the science museum and the aquarium. On Thursday we will go to NYC on the train to see the planetarium. After that we will take some time to relax and pack up to home for school on the 5th. Chao & Chow! Anderson's & Paulina"

"Hi, Craig, Greetings from Stephanie and from us. Stephanie called home today at noon. She sounded very excited and a bit overwhemed by the attention and magnificent sourroundings. She would say things in Spanish and her family tell her how to say it in Italian. She didn't feel frustrated by the language which she says sound so beautiful. Please tell Edie how much we appreciate your assistance and her tenacity to put Stephanie on track with red tape. Love. Maritza, Gabriel Esteban".

JANUARY 2001 NEW MEMBERS: President Les presided over the induction of three new members: Ned Dwyer, George Carpenter, and Jim Friedel.

MAY 2000 NEW MEMBERS: President Craig introduced prospective new members Phil Szeliga, President of Human Electronics, and Andria DeLisle-Heath, Director of Development at Heritage Health Care Center. Phil, a new Rotarian, and Andria -- transferring from the Herkimer Rotary Club -- are both sponsored by secretary and incoming VP, Marlene Brown.

APRIL 2000 NEW MEMBERS: Applications for membership of Michael Sportello was unanimously approved. Mike Sportello is Acct. Exec with the Mohawk Valley Prowlers, and was sponsored by Marlene Brown.

MARCH 2000 NEW MEMBER: Frank Fazekas's application for membership was unanimously approved. Sponsored by Marlene B. Brown, Frank is Founder/President of Apex Tours, Inc. headquartered in New Hartford, NY, with offices around the state.

JAN & FEB 2000 NEW MEMBERS: Applications for membership of Marlene Brown -- transferring from the Utica Rotary Club, and Colin Folsom -- a new Rotarian -- were unanimously approved. Both Marlene and Colin are sponsored by Craig Pugh. Colin is Director of The Boys and Girls Clubs of MV and Marlene is CEO of MarmeL Consulting & TechnoTouch E-Strategists.
