The 4 Avenues of Service

The Pride in Workmanship Committee, a Program of Rotary District 7150

 The Pride in Workmanship Award

By now you realize how hard it is for a club president to keep a good balance in the area of the four Avenues of Service. Probably the most difficult Avenue is Vocational Service.  The Pride in Workmanship Committee believes that they have a program in the area of vocational service that would make your club proud and your presidential year more productive and  rewarding.

Objectives of the Pride of Workmanship Program

To encourage employers, through Rotary, to recognize employees displaying talent and the positive attitude meriting the Pride of Workmanship Award.

Criteria for selecting recipients are job competence, punctuality, consistency of effort, interest and enthusiasm, initiative to work  independently, the maintenance of a pleasant yet businesslike relationship  with co-workers and customers, and epitomize doing their job right the first  time.

Pride of Workmanship is an exciting and rewarding project any Rotary Club can become involved in.  This program requires a minimal outlay of funds, demands only a modest effort of members, and is suitable for all Rotary Clubs regardless of size or region served. The Pride in Workmanship Program can be part of the Vocational Service Avenue of Service, an Avenue which traditionally has a shortage of projects. Participation in the Pride of Workmanship Program satisfies the criteria for Item #9 under Vocational  Service for the Presidential Citation Award.
