The Dream Continued....

As our Rotary journey into the final quarter swiftly passed by, we looked back with pride on the many accomplishments that took place within our Clubs and District wide. We felt good about the countless number of our World Family members we supported in times of joy and despair. The hungry, the homeless, the young and experienced both domestically and around the World felt the helping hand of District 7150 Rotarians. I am so proud of each and everyone of you, your families and all those Rotary friends who supported our efforts. Our communities and our World are better places as a result of our collective passion to serve others. Thank you.

One may think it’s time to sit back and rest on the accomplishments so far this Rotary year. The needs within our Communities and around the World will not give us that luxury today. You need only to turn on the television or pick up the newspaper to see the devastation brought on by the weather or internal Country conflicts. We are the guardians of world peace, goodwill and understanding between all people. A responsibility that requires almost daily vigilance.

The recent communications from RI President Jim Lacy is asking that we respond to the destruction and death the result of nature and do our humanitarian part to assist the Kosovo refugees. In addition we are being asked to look at the direction of our membership within our Clubs. The membership numbers are of concern as we move toward the end of another Rotary year.

Has your Club reached or exceeded it’s membership goal? If the answer is yes, my congratulations to you for this great accomplishment. If the answer is no, there is still time to a make a significant difference in how you will end the year. With just a little focused effort from each Club and it’s members we can be proud of our membership growth. Let’s make it happen together.

The generosity already shown by our membership to the Rotary Foundation is nothing short of awesome. How very generous the District 7150 Rotarians are when the call for help is issued. The District labor day disaster, the Honduras devastation and now Kosovo will push the generosity of every Rotarian in the district to new limits. I know you will respond. The funds already committed are giving rise to even greater united generosity . The needs are so great, and touch our hearts in a manner that springs forth compassion and love for those caught in life’s challenges. Please continue to give generously, and feel good in knowing, one of our World family members is being comforted and sincerely appreciates our care and concern.

The Dreams continued as we marched toward the finish line this Rotary year. Now it's time to assist DG Herb Jerry with the 1999-2000 Theme - Rotary 2000: Continuity, Credibility, Consistency.

We enjoyed serving you. Love, Barb & Ed
