Louis "Lou" Steppello District Governor, 2012-2013 Personal History Louis (Lou) A. Steppello Louis A. Steppello was born and raised in Utica, NY. He is the proud parent of five children and eleven grandchildren. Lou graduated from Proctor High School, Mohawk Valley Community College with an A.A.S. degree in Mechanical Technology, and from Oswego State University with a B. S. degree in Education, and from Binghamton University with a Master's degree in M.I.S. At Binghamton University he received his Master’s Degree in Management Information Systems (M.I.S.). Completed an American Management Associations Certificate in Management from Syracuse University. Rotary History Lou joined the Utica Rotary Club in November 1996 and became the 93rd Utica RC President in 2008-2009. During the year of 2002 he was the proud recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow and is a Sustaining Member. During his 14 years as a Rotarian, Lou served on numerous committees at the Club level, serving as: District Chair of Vocational Service; Service Projects Chair; Co-Chair of Public Relations. At the Club level he
served on and chaired numerous committees i.e. Vocational, Special
Needs, Sgt. @Arms, Youth Services. Serving at the District level,
Lou was Assistant Governor, District Chair of Vocational Service,
Service Projects Chair, and Co-Chair of Public Relations. Professional & Community History In his Community: Lou has been a Board member of the ARC of Oneida/Lewis Counties and The Mohawk Valley Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Sons of Italy, the Elks, and the Upper Mohawk Valley Auditorium Authority. His professional experience includes teaching in the Utica School District; Contracts Administrator and Marketing Representative for Bendix Fluid Power Aerospace Corporation, Director of Operations for Mohawk Janitorial Services (a major custodial company in upstate New York) and is Chairperson of the Upper Mohawk Valley Auditorium Authority.
