Preparation and Format for Governor Bruce's Visit
For the Official Visit, Governor Bruce Frassinelli:
1. Wishes to meet with club officers 90 minutes
before club meeting and with members of the board of directors 60 minutes
before, with this session to end 15 minutes prior to start of club meeting.
For sunrise clubs, these meetings will be held the night before at a
time to be agreed upon mutually.
2. Requests to be the greeter for this club
meeting so he has a chance to meet each club member as he or she comes
to the meeting.
3. Strongly advises that he be scheduled
as that days program.
4. Requests that a new member be sworn in
as part of the clubs commitment to Rotarys Global Quest
of one new member a month with a net gain of at least five by the end
of the Rotary year.
5. Requests the award of a Paul Harris Fellow
or any other special recognition or acknowledgment.
6. Requests to know whether there will be
a planned program for the governors wife, Marie.
7. Requests that check be made to Rotary Foundation
on governors behalf if there is a plan for a gift. This stresses
governors commitment to the Rotary Foundation and his encouragement
of clubs to do the same.
BEFORE THE MEETING
Send to the district governor and assistant
governor, in advance of the meeting, the clubs (1) goals and objectives,
(2) 2000-01 and 2001-02 budgets, (3) list of officers (4) membership
listing as of July 1, 2001.
THE MEETING ITSELF
1. Encourage partners to attend.
2. Club president introduces the Assistant
Governor, who will speak three to five minutes, and the District Governor,
who will speak 15 to 20 minutes.
3. New-member induction Club president
and membership chair are co-hosts, with the District Governor to do
the pinning and congratulating of the new member.
