Preparation and Format for Governor Bruce's Visit

For the Official Visit, Governor Bruce Frassinelli:

1. Wishes to meet with club officers 90 minutes before club meeting and with members of the board of directors 60 minutes before, with this session to end 15 minutes prior to start of club meeting. For sunrise clubs, these meetings will be held the night before at a time to be agreed upon mutually.

2. Requests to be the greeter for this club meeting so he has a chance to meet each club member as he or she comes to the meeting.

3. Strongly advises that he be scheduled as that day’s program.

4. Requests that a new member be sworn in as part of the club’s commitment to Rotary’s Global Quest of one new member a month with a net gain of at least five by the end of the Rotary year.

5. Requests the award of a Paul Harris Fellow or any other special recognition or acknowledgment.

6. Requests to know whether there will be a planned program for the governor’s wife, Marie.

7. Requests that check be made to Rotary Foundation on governor’s behalf if there is a plan for a gift. This stresses governor’s commitment to the Rotary Foundation and his encouragement of clubs to do the same.

BEFORE THE MEETING

Send to the district governor and assistant governor, in advance of the meeting, the club’s (1) goals and objectives, (2) 2000-01 and 2001-02 budgets, (3) list of officers (4) membership listing as of July 1, 2001.

THE MEETING ITSELF

1. Encourage partners to attend.

2. Club president introduces the Assistant Governor, who will speak three to five minutes, and the District Governor, who will speak 15 to 20 minutes.

3. New-member induction – Club president and membership chair are co-hosts, with the District Governor to do the pinning and congratulating of the new member.
