SYRACUSE SUNRISE ROTARY SPONSORS
SECOND "MASK" THEATER BENEFIT
SYRACUSE, NY, APRIL 12,1999- He's got multiple heads, an enormous nose and a great sense of humor, and on Saturday, May 22, children's performer Michael Cooper returns to Central New York to enchant children and adults alike with his "Mask Theater."
The show, sponsored by the Syracuse Sunrise Rotary Club and Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, will benefit a new Family Learning Project at the Learning Place, a not -for-profit adult literacy council with two Syracuse locations.
"Mask Theater" is a one-of-a-kind show for the entire family. Cooper's performance combines original masks (some taking over 300 hours to create) and some masks that become puppet-like, with classical and original stories in rhyme, prose or pure gestures.
Last year's performance was a smash hit, with parents and children requesting a return engagement.
"Mask Theater" will take place on Saturday, May 22, at the Nottingham High School Auditorium, 3100East Genesee St., beginning at 10:00 a.m. Tickets are $5.00 per person and may be purchased by calling 458-5641.
